The Truth About Eternity

There are big questions we all face: What happens when I die? Where will I spend eternity? The most important question you'll ever answer is this: “If I were to die today, would I spend eternity in Heaven with God?”

The good news is God wants you to know for sure that you have eternal life!

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13

1

Recognize We Are All Sinners

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

Sin is any thought, word, or action that breaks God's laws and commandments. Because of our sin, we are separated from God. No one is “good enough” to reach Heaven on their own. Isaiah 64:6 tells us that “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” No matter how much good we do in life, we still fall short of God's perfect standard and cannot bridge the gap our sin has created.

2

Understand There is a Penalty for Sin

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

God is a perfect and righteous judge, so He cannot allow sin into Heaven. Sin carries a serious penalty that must be paid. The “wages” or payment for our sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from God in Hell.

3

Realize Jesus Paid the Price

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

But God — these two powerful words change everything. Because of His great love for us, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth. Jesus paid the full penalty for our sin by dying on the cross. Three days later, He rose from the dead, proving that He is God and that He alone has the power to forgive us and save us from eternal death. We can have eternal life in Heaven because Jesus took our place.

4

Confess and Call Upon The Lord

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9

We must place our complete faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. This means sincerely confessing our sin to God and turning to Him alone for forgiveness and eternal life. True salvation leads us to begin following Jesus and striving to live for Him every day.

Receive Christ as Your Savior Today

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

This verse is God's clear promise: if you pray to Him, confess that you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive your sins, and trust in Jesus Christ alone as your Savior, He will save you and give you the free gift of eternal life. You can do that right now by praying a simple, sincere prayer from your heart, such as this one:

“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I deserve Hell for my sin. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and I turn to you alone to be my Savior. Jesus, I ask you to forgive me of my sins and save me. I put my trust in You alone to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank You for loving me and saving me today.”
