Our Beliefs

What We Believe

Faith Baptist Church is an Independent, Fundamental, Local, Bible-Believing church that stands firmly on the King James Version of the Holy Bible.

Independent

As an independent Baptist church, we are not affiliated with any denominational organization or ruling body. This allows us the freedom to support our own missionaries, choose our own leaders, and partner with ministries that share our convictions.

Fundamental

We place a strong emphasis on sound Christian doctrine. Just as an athlete must master the basics, we believe the health of any church depends on staying true to the fundamental teachings of Scripture.

Local

We follow the New Testament pattern of the local church. Each church is autonomous and answers directly to the Lord Jesus Christ as its Head rather than to any external denomination or organization. The Bible makes it clear that no single church is to have dominion over another.

Bible Believing

We believe the Bible is the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures and is inerrant, infallible, and the preserved Word of God. It is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

KJV Only

We use the King James Version for all preaching and teaching, believing it to be God's preserved Word for English-speaking people.

The Bible

We believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures: that every word of the original manuscripts of the Old and New Testaments is fully and divinely inspired by God and is inerrant. The Bible is therefore the complete and perfect Word of God, preserved through the ages, given through divine inspiration, profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. We believe that special revelation ceased with the completion of the New Testament, and the Bible stands as our sole and sufficient authority for all matters of faith and practice.

We believe the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people. We use the King James Version for all preaching and teaching.

Salvation

We believe that all people inherit a sinful nature from Adam's fall, rendering them totally depraved, separated from God, and unable to earn salvation by their own efforts. Salvation is a free gift of God's grace alone, received through faith in Christ alone, and purchased by the blood of Jesus through His death on the cross. This saving grace brings justification, regeneration, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, forgiveness of sins, deliverance from eternal condemnation, adoption into God's family, eternal life in His kingdom, and the promise of future resurrection. It also produces repentance and a new life marked by following Christ and submission to God's moral law.

God's Plan of Salvation

Creation

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, along with everything in them, in six literal, consecutive, 24-hour days by speaking them into existence. In those six 24-hour days, He also formed humanity, male and female, in His own image and likeness. God then rested on the seventh day, establishing a pattern of work and rest for His people.

Baptism

We believe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision: a public declaration of faith after accepting Christ as Savior. The act of baptism itself does not save us or wash away our sins but is instead a picture of what Christ did for us in His death, burial and resurrection. When a believer is immersed in baptism, they are testifying to others that they have died to sin, been buried with Christ, and risen to walk in new life with Him.

We practice believer's baptism, meaning baptism is reserved for those who have made a conscious, personal decision to follow Christ. Only then can someone genuinely identify with Him in this way.

The Trinity

We believe in one triune God who eternally exists as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and share the same divine attributes and perfections. God is a spirit that is personal, eternal, self-existent, infinite, all-powerful, all-knowing, all-wise, unchanging, holy, and loving. He is the Creator and Ruler of all things and the only proper object of our worship.

Jesus Christ

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He is eternally pre-existent with the Father before the foundations of the world, the one and only Savior of mankind, and possesses all the attributes of Deity. Conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, He is God incarnate. Though He became man, He never relinquished any of His divine attributes but merely veiled them.

He lived a perfect, sinless life and performed many miracles. Through His death on the cross, He accomplished our redemption as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. This sacrifice was a just payment to God for the forgiveness of sin. It was activated by the shedding of His blood on the cross and was accepted by God upon His literal, physical resurrection from the dead, which assures our justification.

He ascended into Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where He serves as Lord of the universe, Head of the church, and our High Priest. He will come again to raise the saved to eternal life, the lost to eternal punishment, to judge all people, to rule over all creation, and to establish a perfect new heaven and new earth.

Eternal Security

We believe in the eternal security of the believer; in other words, once saved always saved. Scripture clearly states that all the redeemed are held firmly in the Father's hand, kept by God's power, and therefore are secure in Christ forever.

John 6:37-40; John 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:4-5

Return of Christ

We believe in the blessed hope of the personal, imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This means He could return at any moment to rapture His church and take believers home to be with Him before the seven-year Tribulation period begins on the earth.

At the conclusion of the Tribulation, Christ will return visibly and personally to the earth with His saints to establish His promised Messianic Kingdom, fulfilling the covenants God made with the nation of Israel. He will reign literally and physically for one thousand years.

Following the Millennium will be the Great White Throne Judgment, after which God will create a new heaven and a new earth.

We believe in the pre-tribulational Rapture and the premillennial return of Christ.
